PVB, asphalt, essential oil, and SBS agglomerate when operating at 160-170 degrees Celsius.

PVB, asphalt, essential oil, and SBS agglomerate when operating at 160-170 degrees Celsius. Is it caused by high operating temperature? (Used to make binder)

PVB and SBS are two different solvent systems. PVB is insoluble and very difficult to disperse in the system. Asphalt is a by-product of heavy oil and has no mutual solubility with PVB. Low-temperature dispersion in a solid form is feasible, but the asphalt has a very high viscosity at low temperature and it is difficult to disperse. If mandatory, special dispersion equipment is required, and adding PVB to the asphalt is not cost-effective.
